It all boils done to money......the gun dealers want to keep it like it is so as to sell more guns, if they left it like it now they sell more single shot rifles but if they changed it the hunters would just use their old trusty rifle.

Also the insurance companies have a lot of control over hunting laws by wanting more deer to be harvested to cut down on auto claims of deer vs auto.

So all in all our hunting season is not controlled by the hunters or game and fish commission but by lobbyist lobbing for the ones out to make money on what can be used to hunt with and how many can be killed.
