Traveling thru MS

Postby sdw » Mon Nov 28, 2016 8:55 pm

Looks like I'll be driving through MS tomorrow from Birmingham on my way to New Orleans and returning Wednesday night sometime. Anyone have any recommendations for a good stopping point for supper?

I assume you will be traveling down I-59 from around Meridian to where it meets I-10? It would help us to know a little about your schedule to know where you are going to be around supper time. Without knowing more, I would assume you would be near Hattiesburg?

That's exactly how I'll be traveling. And I don't even know my schedule yet. I plan to leave for home around 4 on Wednesday. But I'm not sure what time I'm leaving Birmingham tomorrow.

Thanks anyways! I can find somewhere to eat. I just didn't know if anyone had any recommendations for a good local spot along the way. I get tired of eating at chain restaurants.

If you want local flare, try the Purple Parrot in Hattiesburg. Or Lytheas BBQ on 98 west.

Thank you! I'm trying the BBQ tonight and if I get through at the right time tomorrow I will try the purple parrot. Sure smells good! Can't wait to eat. Image

It was great! Thanks again!

If you end up in Laurel at lunch time you might try PDI . The locals love it for the handmade hamburgers.

I'll be in New Orleans until 3 or later. But I'll try PDI next time I'm in Laurel. I usually visit a customer there a couple of times a year.
