Blessed with a little more rain. Looking like it's going to be a wet season once again. Happened 2 years ago.

I hate going to and from my stand in the rain, but love hunting in a slow steady rain. I really like being there when a front comes through and the rain stops a couple of hours before dark. The woods usually come to life.

Know what you mean glenn. But I hate recovery and dressing in the wet weather. When I was younger, the weather couldn't get to bad. Those were the days.

Yesterday afternoon I drove my truck to the middle of a field on the slope of a hill and just stayed in it since I have no sheltered stands. I saw a bunch of does and 2 bucks. Amazing that they weren't bothered by that red Toyota.

A Toyota, don't walk upright. Once you shoot at them from the truck you can bet when they see it. They will scatter.

I agree Terry. If my son had not been with me I probably would not have hunted, much less killed one. I have gotten way too lazy in my old age. Like you, in my younger years I would hunt in anything.

I don't hunt in the rain like I used to do, just hoping it moves out tomorrow morning

Jv, it's now midnight and appears to be slowing up here. Has been pouring for the last several hours. My back has kept me up, but Sherrie, is sound asleep.
Since I couldn't sleep I made a pot of Native American Venison Stew.
It's going to get cold soon and I want to be ready.
The fire lanes and gas line will be under water for a couple days, so I will be sitting tight.

Still have a good shower falling right now and around 1:00 this morning we had a thunderstorm move through that was producing heavy rains and nickel size hail.
Bet that stew will.be good on a cold night.
