Kayaking bear creek

Thought I'd share a few more pics from Saturday's trip. We launched the yaks at the Tishomingo state park and made a 6mi float. It's not a commercial route so we only saw 2 people on the entire 5hr trip, we put in where the park trip ends. I've gotta say I am completely hooked on kayaking. It is a great relaxing time!

I haven't kayaked Bear Creek but I really like going to Tishomingo. Just can't get over the rocks and how different it is from the rest of the state.

It truly is. It's less than an hour from my house and every time I go I kick myself for not going more often.

i have only been to tishamingo once, in college.. i think we hiked & then went over to some cave right over the state line.. i was amazed at how that area didn't look at all like "Mississippi" to me..

Looks fun. But I got to ask, what do you do if a big cottonmouth decides to come aboard ?

The creeks we have been going to are to cold for snakes.

Dont be so sure about that. The most agressive water mocassin about trying to get in the boat I have dealt with was on the White River below Bull Shoals trout fishing. We figured he was ultra agressive cause he was trying to get out of the cold water, ha.
