My parents generation remember what they were doing when JFK was assassinated. My generation remembers what we were doing when the terror attacks happened on 9/11

I remember like it was yesterday. I was getting ready to leave the house to take my son to mothers-day-out , then head into work. As I was walking out the door, the wife yelled at me to come back in the house and look at the news. As we were wondering "how" that plane hit the 1st tower, we watched the 2nd plan hit the other tower, and then I knew exactly what was happening.

One of the biggest things I remembered that followed, was the eerie silence in the skies from the lack of planes

A lot of things have changed since then :(

I was working on the river staying in a "camp" in Morganza, LA. I was sitting at my computer doing my daily production reports and my boatman Bill Saulter had CNN on and when the 1st plane hit we both assumed it was an accident, then the 2nd and the Pentagon. It happened on a Tuesday, I was due to go on my time off on Thursday, but my relief (who lived in Camden, NJ) wasn't able to get a flight for a while. The company actually paid for my wife and son to drive down since I couldn't leave.

I remember it like it was yesterday.

I was home that morning, i was only working part time. I was watching the Today show and saw it live. My youngest was in High school and the rest were working. I remember being in shock at what I was seeing. And scared of what might come.

Had just gotten off work from the Fire Dept and was working on a remodel job on a lady's kitchen when I saw it on tv....was in total shock and shortly afterwards got a phone call tell all firemen if anyway possibly to stay close as we could to town.
