Is this place dying?

Postby flipper » Wed Mar 13, 2019 8:03 pm

I just have to ask that because no one is posting. Not even any recipes or pics of food. You know I love those Terry and Chad and JB. I just want y'all to know in case this forum shuts down that I have really enjoyed my time here with all of you. I've learned a lot and had so much fun. JV, I really care about you and pray you will heal fully. JB and Honey Bee, I hope all is well on your end and wish you all the best as well.Glenn, YOU are just so much fun to harass. I needed to be able to do that occasionally. Triple Deuce, you have been a great addition here in so many ways. Lady Hunter, it was great to know I wasn't the only gal on here. You made me feel safe:) Dusty, I loved hearing about your successes! And everyone else, all of you, I'm going to miss this place if it goes.Thank you for including me.
Greg, thanks for having us all in the first place. Great friendships have been made and those can't be taken away.
I will wait to hear from y'all, but I sure hope it's good news!

I check in multiple times a day. I actually was gonna make a similar post today. I really wish everyone would hang around even in the off season. I'm looking forward to getting after birds!

I try to check in regular but I have a new job where I work a lot of hours and spend a lot of time on the road.
I am looking forward to spending this weekend in the woods listening for a gobbler.
This has been a great site, the only hunting one that I even visit anymore.
If it does shutdown thanks for allowing me to be a small part of it.

I would give an excuse, but I am just a low life scum bag that has not done my part for a good while. I do check in most days. I will try to do better because I really don’t want to see it go away either. Flipper, feel free to harass me any time you want to.

I’ve been lurking and not having much to post about. The site has been slow but typical of the after deer season blues. I have no place to turkey hunt nor the time since work takes the front row till deer season.

I am going to Kansas next week to check out a possible lease for all game. 12.5 hours away

I check in often but most of the time I dont post that much.
I personally dont think it's going to shut down but only Greg can say that. The off season (deer) is always slow but this is about as slow as I have ever seen it.
I wont be able to Turkey hunt this year because I haven't gotten my strength back as of yet. Maybe when we get warmer weather fishing will pick up and more people posting.
Now I can't say why but we ha vc e a lot of people that come here every day but all they do is check and post private messages to each other and never post to the forum.
I hope that the forum keeps going and my soon pick up and I will start posting more since I am starting to feel somewhat better.

We are not the forum we were several years ago. A lot of people have moved on, a lot of us have aged and are having health issues. It seems most younglings want instagram or twitter and a lot could care less about hunting or fishing unless it is on a video console.
I never set foot in the woods this past deer season.
I hope the forum keeps going, and would love to see more activity. I can post a recipe or 2 and I still shoot a good bit, most of that is coyotes In the huge field here.

I'm still around but haven't had much to say. I work a lot and usually drop in just to creep in the shadows. Lol

Yep, the forum is just about gone.. If not for the few who frequent and post, I would have quit paying for this a long time ago..

will probably shut it down soon, and consolidate it to another server.. You shouldn't notice any difference unless you try to access during the move..

Flipper, store bought corned beef. Two from SaveALot, brand name Reuben. One from Sams, their name. Actually liked the SaveALot , better.
I am using the pellet smoker, for pretty much everything now days. The temperature control is dead on. I smoked them at 250, for 2 hours. Then placed in foil pans with 2 Bay leaf's 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar, 1/4 cup water, and a couple table spoons minced garlic. Covered with foil and cooked to an internal temp of 195, took another 2 hours. Rested 30 minutes and sliced.

Greg, how much does it cost you to keep the site up ? I for one would be willing to help with the cost. I know nothing about how this stuff works. But this has been the most family friendly place I have ever been associated with on the web. I would hope that other members would be willing to help keep it going.
