how exactly does the hurricane kill the fish?

causes a "turnover" probably (removes all the oxygen).

If its killing catfish, then it must have been bad...

On a positive note though, if some fish did survive (especially bass), you could have some really nice size bass in a few years !

1-hurricane pushes saltwater up the gulf into the ms river and into the basins
2- too much fallen trees/leaves fall in water depleting oxygen in water
3- when it floods bad and the water drops out too fast it deplets oxygen

Man oh man what a waste. I'm over the hurricanes for quite awhile.
