I've done the 5k before it's not that bad. You should try the St. Jude marathon/5K every year downtown in Dec. it's a lot of fun and it's for a great cause.

no... I've been running in the morning. I get up at 4 - 4:15. I usually stay in the hood but last few times I have ran from oakwood park subdiv to 305 and back.

I don't like the way folks fly through that S curve between by subdiv and craft. Fraid someone will run me over.

But if you see a Handsome striking person running or crawling stop and say hi cause it may be me

running without trying to catch something is just dumb, IMO. I will run after a softball, after a woman, after a snack, etc... but I ain't running just for the sake of running. :nono:

If you pass me get ready for me to pass you back... it ain't how fast you can run, it's how fast you have to run. :rotflol:

I have ran off and on for the past 15 years but got really serious about a year and a half ago. I don't do 5k's, although I would, but I have done a couple 10k's and a half marathon. I am leaving on October 10 to go to Chicago to run my first full marathon on the 12th. Running is really as addictive as crack, but much better for you. The races really make it worth your time. If you don't run in the races and experience the adrenaline rush of the crowds cheering you on and the thrill of competing against other runners, it is like practicing football all the time and never playing a game. Get out there and experience the runners high. good luck :)

As round as I've become I could surely stand to run a mile or two each day.

However, if someone see's me running, PLEASE shoot to kill whatever is behind me cause it ain't good.

My favorite part about the 5K's has to be the beer truck at the end of the race. Only ran one 10 K and it was part of an adventure race. It was either take up running or go on high blood pressure medicine. I ended up losing 60 lbs and am feeling much better for it. Take it slow and invest in a good pair of running shoes that fit you. A physical therapist can evaluate your walk/run and recommend the proper type/brand of shoe.
