gtk,

What did you fertilize that mixture with...I'm guessing 0-14-14 or 0-20-20? I figured the wheat gets its nitrogen from the clover and peas.

You nailed it.. 0-20-20. The wheat of course dies off, and the clover flourishes.

Of course, that food plot is buried under about 14 feet of dirt now :cry:

You making your deer work too hard for their food you need to uncover the food plot

The area we hunt has 3 existing plots ranging from 1/8 to 1/4 acre. We have another area and several logging roads, especially the main road down the center of the property. I'm pretty sure the mix you have there with the addition of some chicory is what we're shooting for next fall. I'm trying to decide what we can grow well this summer besides Alyce cover and cow peas. I thought of some vetch, but they say it doesn't work well in sandy soil. Ideas?
