Clay peas

When should I plant them? I will plant 2 plots 2 acres each.

Mid to late May has worked the best for me in north miss.


If, It's a new plot ... Add in some Buckwheat ....

Sardis, I am new to the summer plot thing, so why the buckwheat to a new plot?
How much per acre for buckwheat?

Buckwheat was used in Arkansas to choke out weeds and unwanted grasses in the late 1800's to be able to plant fall plots. Do some homework and deer like it also and it's cheap .

You can just broadcast a bag of both per ac. Buckwheat is also a great soil builder. If you want to do a pure clover plot this fall you will be ahead of the game.

If we dont get too much rain friday, I will plant my clay
peas this weekend. The ground is ready now. I wish I
could have them in the ground tomorrow, but I have to work.

Got 150# clay peas and 10# of purple hull peas planted and didnt even get the rain.
I need some rain now that I got them in the ground!
