You have a great point that grass and weeds grow better than any crop under the same conditions!

Unless your trying to grow grass then you can't get it to grow.

Looking a little better. Finally got a shower on it. May have to go back and just plant the bare spots in wheat this fall

Here's a photo I took Tuesday of a great looking "food plot." I'm sure the farmer probably does not intend for it to be a wildlife food plot but it's adjacent to the Yazoo River and I can just see the deer, raccoons, crows, etc. helping themselves!

At the price of corn right now and the acreage lost to flooding, I am pretty sure the farmers are going to harvest every ear they can this year.

My neighbor and friend has lost 3800 acres of corn. All corn in Yazoo County is burnt up. Driving to Canton, I see the same thing. The deer I am seeing look very poor also. Creeks dried up, ponds and lakes dried up. A repeat of last year.

The ones that can irrigate have decent looking corn here but was so late planting because of high water that it is still behind in growth......some that cut wheat have not planted anything behind it because it's so dry right now.

The summer wheat did great. One guy close to me burned his fields two weeks ago and set the world on fire. It jumped fire lanes and highway and burned a lot of property. They are not planting due to dry conditions.

Know what you mean....they haven't durned the field closest to the house yet and hope they just disk it up.
