I was going to put a couple up. By the time I was ready they hade mowed down all the turnips and rape. Rape went first, never thought they would eat the turnips this early or at all. Really planted them for my own consumption. They are gone.

It's easy enough to tell the deer are mowing my plot down without any cages. The Austrian winter peas got up to about 8 or 9 inches high before the deer started hitting them hard. Now there are hardly any peas over three or four inches high. They have scalped the Elbon rye down to just an inch or two high. By contrast, the sugar snap peas planted in my garden which is fenced are about 15 inches high.

I use them. Made them from wire that they put down before pouring concrete. They also make good tomato cages!

I use 1x1 cage wire, you can get it @ the local co-op or feed store. I have some pics with some on a trash bin I just built, I'll post pics when I get home.

no need to explain, been there and done that!

I have exclusion cages made outta chicken wire and they work fine. I find they help more later to determine how much they have eaten. Need some rain bad just so the grass will grow. It isn't showing much with no grass growth.
