I am located in the center of about 1000 acres of hardwoods.
I have planted food plots for years but this year the deer are ignoring the oats , winter peas, rye, and assorted greens.
What is up??

Don't feel bad, they haven't been eating mine either. It's like someone turned off a switch!

Re: Food Plots
We have several small food plots in the woods and a couple are eat down to the bare ground and the ground is covered in acorns around them.

Re: Food Plots
could be the lack of fertilzier/ph level etc...a dead animal could be near the foodplots...hunting pressure/acerns/aliens abducting the deer/poachers(lazyghost)/....setup a circular wire fence and then youll really know/or a trail camera

SDK, I have 9 cameras out on my 160 acres so I pretty much got it covered from stem to stern and haven't gotten but 21 pics in two weeks. Been hearing from everyone around us that it's just dead! Our property is nearly 90% hardwoods and there are acorns everywhere.

Do you have any cams watching any white oak trees?
They are like cocain to the deer in our area.

Yeah, I have two cams that are watching white oaks that are heavily browsed areas each year. Not much activity lately though during the day. It's just a really strange year for us
