These are hybrid oaks in the tree tubes. I got them from native nurseries.
This will be an area that will be a food plot in a year or two. These trees will be cut and clean around them. I wanted to put them in the open of the future plot so they will get full growth. I wil clean around them soon.

Thanks....the pears I planted 2 years ago are starting to make purdy good.
I had one Japanese persimmon last year. Every year it should be looking better.
Iv got about a hundred sawtooth and 30 fruit trees in an orchard style planting that I
keep cut and clean around.

My trees are 2 and a half years in the ground and younger. I wish I would've had the time and money to plant all in one year so I would have all older seedlings growing now.
I have about 3 different stage trees growing. This years trees are really getting their roots settled in and starting to grow with the timely rains!

I also fertilized my trees real good this year except I didn't fertilize my new trees.
The fertilizer has really made them jump since spring!

Huntall I have been planting trees on my place for the past couple years. I would love to swap tree stories with you and see if we could help each other with information.
Trees I planted last year were, persimmon, sawtooth oak, Bur Oak, pecan, Swamp chest nut oak, pin oak and American chest nut. Multiple fruit trees from Plum, pear, Apricot, Pomegranate, peach, fig, elderberry, mulberry, cherry, crab apple, and regular TN apple and . Vines from red grape to Muscadine, and black berry. Just last season I planted nearly 500 trees and have about a hundred more growing in pots for this years planting.

It's a lot of fun and I have even planted several trees that are for looks only like the Magnolia, blue spruce, sequoia, and many cyprus in my swampy areas.as well as red and silver maples, and Sassafras for the fall look. Here is a picture my my place last fall. PM me will talk

Msduckmen,Sounds like you have a nice place you have been working with!
Like you say...it's a lot of fun, but it's a lot of work also!
And it would be nice to hear on what has worked for you.
I know I have learned a lot over the years on what works best for me.
I also have a bunch of trees I have grown from acorns in my back yard in pots waiting till fall or spring to plant on my place.
I will send you a pm in the next day or so.
I've planted over 3,000 trees over the last few years so
I have dug a few holes! :rotflol: :rotflol:

I think I'm going to get mine from Nativ Nurseries too. I thought about doing this for the past couple of years, now I wish I had've done it already! Did your chinkapin make any mast this fall?

Nativ Nurseries has top quality trees. You can't go wrong useing them.
They are a little higher than some, but can't beat their quality.
No acorns yet.

Ok folks.....it's time to get some trees in the ground.
I don't have but about 30-40 trees that are in 3-5gal pots.
As soon as I get these trees in the ground I'm going to fertilize
Some of the trees that are already planted the last few years.

The fertilizer really made them grow last year!

I'm looking forward to see another years growth on my trees!

Planted pear trees and a Japanese persimmon today.

I always rough the roots up a little so they will not be rootbound.

I always put a wire ring around the fruit trees to keep the deer from eating the tops
out of them. Deer can't pass up the new growth on the young fruit trees.
This pear tree is ready for spring other than mabe some mulch.
