I got the powerline plot planted in iron clay peas yesterday.
The bottom plot was still too wet to get a tractor in it. I will try to plant
the bottom plot in two weeks from now.

This is a picture of the powerline plot after I got it planted yesterday.

I will update with pictures as I get them.
Good thing I covered the seed up, because the big Tom I hunted all turkey season has found the plot the same day I planted it! I ran him off yesterday evening.
He didn't even seem scared now that season is over.

Looked at the powerline this evening and the peas are already coming up in five days.

Bottom plot looks ok, but the deer are already hitting them hard!
Don't think they are going to make it this year.
Neighbors cutting timber, and pushing a lot of deer on me.
Here is some from the bottom plot.

. I don't know if you can tell the bare stems.

Powerline looks REALLY good. Kinda makes me wish I could go hunting already. That bottom plot is getting hammered but your doing good for the herd. Hopefully those deer will stay on your place for a while and may even take up new home there

Still going strong! Waist high now.

I had put a line accros one main trail into the plot with the white grocery bags,
tied to it to slow the deer from browsing the peas so much while the peas was still young.

Powerline and bottom plot still look good. According to my game cam pictures I have mostly bucks in my peas right now. 3 good bucks have been in the peas regular.
I hope they stay around!
This is the powerline.

Here are my peas...the deer are browsing some, but when will the plants actually make peas? This is my first round at peas. I was expecting the deer to be hitting them heavy by now.

Johndavid, your peas are looking good. It takes a long time to make peas. They eat the vines just the same as the actual peas. My peas are just now starting to make.
Don't worry if they are not browsing them real heavy right now.
That is actually a good thing! The longer they last the better chance they will last to season opens. If they make it till September in my experience they will just flat out mow them down in a couple weeks.
If you don't have a game cam or two on the peas I would put one or two.
It is a great camera survey when they hit them hard!

Also iron clay peas grow so fast and just keep growing that sometimes it may look like they are not eating them much ,but they are not browsing it to the ground. That's why I like putting the game cameras out to see what's happening.
