We've got 85 acres on the south side of Arkabutla that my SIL's uncle owns and he let's us hunt there. He lives in Little Rock and is up in years so he can't hunt anymore so we've been hunting it for several years now. But, we haven't done anything with it. It just sits there and we go in and hunt 3-4 times a year and that's it. Well, it's gotten to the point now where we're going to have to do some work on it. I took the boy yesterday down there to sit and see what we could see and well, we basically couldn't see anything. Everything is so grown up that a deer would have to get within 30 yds in order for us to see it as thick as stuff has gotten. And I don't know where all the bamboo has come from either. There aren't any groves on the property that I know of but it sure got started somehow. Between saplings, bamboo, and other weeeds this is gonna take some work...

Mike.. you need to put the "img" tags around the pics, not the "url" tags..

I wouldn't clear too much.. I believe the thicker it is, the more deer it attracts.. Clear a couple shooting lanes and leave the rest alone.

I have hunted Ar land that looks just like this. Find the deer patterns and clear shooting lanes with a chainsaw. Arkansas also allows feeders so plan your strategies accordingly... Good Luck

Like the rest say, clear out a few food plots and you should be alright.
