fertilize

Postby showstopper » Tue Nov 06, 2007 10:29 am

I planted my food plots about three weeks ago, they are comming up really well. I would like to fertilize them this weekend. Not sure what kind of fertilizer to put down. I have heard a triple thriteen works, and a 0-20-20, i also heard of using Urea. I know it is good to put down urea around the end of january but someone told me he does his plots twice a year with it. aroun this time and christmas. Any suggestions?

I have oats, wheat, turnips, clover, other greens, rye grass, australian winter peas. I have a pipeline that is 250 yards both ways all planted about 50 yds wide. Should i do this before a big rain

the clover & peas are legumes, and you can (just ask bwm), kill them with too much nitrogen (13-13-13).

0-20-20 is a safe bet for the legumes.

triple 13 will work for the other stuff.

i have everything planted together pretty much. So am i correct in saying that 0-20-20 would be my best bet. Any idea about Urea

you can have a soil test done. i think MS. State does them for cheap. they will send you a kit with instructions.

i would play it safe with the 0 nitrogen until you find out what your soil count is
