Red Dot Scopes/Sights

Does any of you have any experience with the red dot scopes? Good or bad I'd like to here them

depends on what your use will be. I've used in past on blackpowder with good results out to about 100 yds. now have a 50mm on an ar-15 for speed and it works well for me. have a 30mm on a handgun and its also ok for it use. zero magnification though.

I'm thinking about putting one on the S&W 686 for deer. Not sure yet what the max range will be That depends on how accurate I can shoot but probably no more than 100 yds

its better than fixed sights, but just practice to know your limits

I picked up a Norstar red dot when I bought my new Ithica 12 ga pump.

It has a 45 mm diameter and is really great! I sighted it in at 40 yards for turkeys and it holds true down to 5 yards.

Just dont know if I want one for a rifle. Been shooting crosshairs for too many years to change.

Norstar cost me only $40 at the gun show.
