30-06 Ruger American

Postby jbullard1 » Sat Jun 22, 2013 3:01 pm

This is my new hunting rifle, and so far I am pleased.
I have a Nikon 4-12 scope on it and am shooting my handloads from a rest.
also this is 4 / two shot groups, with a little scope tweaking and 30 minutes cooling time between groups.
This target is my final rough sightin target at 100 yards, the ammo used is the recipe I use for my soon to be rebarrelled Remmy 700 30-06
I am totally impressed with the accuracy of the untailored rounds through the Ruger American, the trigger is awesome for a factory gun,(similar the Savage Accutrigger),and the price of this rifle is very affordable.

I still have a lot of work to do getting it tuned in to The Swamp Shack ranges and no J2 you can't shoot it :stir:

I've heard good things about those rifles and from that performance, it appears what I heard was true.

I shot one in .308 and it was a very good shooting rifle. It was comfortable to shoot and accurate right out of the box. Wonder if they come in left hand modles???
