Bought my wife a handgun

Postby BIGERN76 » Fri Aug 16, 2013 9:52 am

My wife has been telling me that she wanted a pistol for a few months now. I really didn't think she was serious at first. We went down and she picked out this ruger LC-9 with the Crimson trace grip. We went to shoot it and it is gonna take some getting use to. It feels pretty good in your hand but the trigger is just so long it makes it hard to shoot well (it is still a better trigger than the S&W Bodyguard IMO).

i have the bodyguard. its the only gun i carry on a regular basis becuase it's so concealable. it was kind of shocking the first time I fired it.. . Its loud, and has quite a kick for such a small pistol.

yes, the triggers are horrible, but if you shoot it enough you get used to it. There is a custom trigger replacement coming out for it soon (end of this month i thing).

I shot the bodyguard 380 and it has more recoil than I expected. This little 9mm isn't quite as bad. It is a bit larger but still very concealable. I just wanted to get something she would be comfortable shooting. We are going to have to spend some time shooting just to get used to the trigger.

My girlfriend carries the LC9 and I personally HATE that gun only for the 4 foot long trigger pull. Sheesh its ridiculous. My dad and roommate both carry the bodyguard and after shooting it and carrying it around it will for sure be my next gun buy. I wll say that LC9 is a very accurate gun and easily concealed
