Haversack ?

Postby jbullard1 » Thu Sep 27, 2007 2:29 pm

Haversack
Thats what I am going to call it. It was made for me by my Mom who is 77 years old, and an excellent seamstress, from a verbal description and a couple of sketches. The material is cotton muslin outside and cotton pillow ticking liner with a deer antler button. There are 3 pouches/pockets inside to hold a round flask, tin of caps and a short starter. I'm rather proud of it even though Mom calls it a purse

Here it is with my Traveler made blesbok powder horn 8)
I think they fit together rather nicely :)

I'm hoping in 3 weeks to make some meat when Muzzleloading season opens in Arkansas and maybe get some blood stains on the Haversack and powder horn

I've heard them called a "possibles" bag too. Get some blood on it to break it in ..

I've also heard them called "man bags" for the metrosexual types.... :D

just joshing, JB, it actually looks pretty cool to me, but Mom's do have a way with words don't they!

that sure does beat craming all your black powder stuff into the cargo pockets on your camo pants. that's one of the reason i quit black powder hunting, to much stuff to carry around.

how about a picture of the shoes
