Dads old shotgun

I went home to MS. last week and my Dad gave me his old Quail gun a 1972 870 wing master 20 gauge light wieght. It's a nice old gun and came with 26" improved cylinder barrel but my dad sent it to the gunsmith and had Tru-choke screw choke installed. I went to Carlsons and found Extended tubes for it. I plan on bird hunting with it this next season. I will always cherish this gun but my dad told me he wanted me to shoot it and enjoy it as he has. :)

Something to always be proud of and cherish.....I had my Dad's first gun but lost it in a house fire several years ago alone with my first gun.

its nice to have family guns, and even nice when the are "usable".

I have some, but for the most part, they are not useable. I have one old side by side that I have shot skeets with .

My dad only had two girls and even though I was a tomboy, he never imagined I would be interested in his shotgun. After all, he wasn't that much into hunting. Just a nice duck hunt in Arkansas each December on an invitation. He was going to leave it to my sister's son who cares ZERO about hunting, guns, etc. I did not know this when I mentioned to him not to get rid of it.....that I would like to have it some day. He was thrilled and gave me the Belgium Browning 12 gauge. It is so special to me, so I know how you feel.

I have a 1956 Belgium made A5 sweet 16 Browning that I love. I too have two girls and no sons but I have two grandsons that will make out like bandits one day.
