I found a pellet my Air Gun likes.

Postby patinlouisiana » Mon Mar 07, 2016 6:39 pm

I got fed up trying to shoot the break barrel Gamo I had bought last year.
Could not get consistent groups at all. one week it shot great next week an 8" spread...
Well I bought a Pre-Charged Pneumatic (PCP) by Hatsan in .22 cal.
Again I tried many different pellets until I found the one it likes!

Actually on the pre-charged you can use any scope as they have no recoil.
Unlike the break barrel springers or gas piston guns that beat the hell out of a scope.
But to answer your question it is a UTG 3X9X40 AO Mill Dot

It is the Hatsan AT44-10 QE 10 shot repeater in .22 caL.
The lower cylinder is the air reservoir.
Operates at 3000 psi

Right now I am using a 2 stage hand pump. Looks like a bike pump but goes to 4000 psi. Takes about 50 pumps for around 20 shots. Eventually I'll get a SCUBA tank to fill from.

I've been checking on the specs and wonder if nitrogen would work?

Ni. might work.
It is somewhat denser (the reason to use in tires) and might not flow through the tiny ports as quickly.
I doubt it would be noticeably slower.
What is the standard pressure in a Ni. bottle?

Found this on line. My airgun need 3000 psi but there are some that are only 2000 or 2500.
"High-pressure cylinders come in a variety of pressure ratings and capacities. The most commonly used cylinders for oxygen, nitrogen, argon, and helium are rated at 2200 psig. Other commonly used cylinders are 2485 psig and 2640 psig cylinders."
