NEED HELP PLEASE !! about 270 Nosler Partitions

Postby mshunter » Sun Dec 02, 2007 9:44 am

Does anyone that reloads and uses the non-cannalure bullets( no crimp ring) in auto rifles ? If so what is done to insure that the bullet stays in place and doesn't push back into brass? I am going to use in a bolt action 700 remington and dont think I will have any issues but with some force the bullet will push back into brass but will not pull out forward. Do you try to crimp it in place after setting or is there a stronger brass that is purchased for these bullets ect ect???? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.Thanks,....Ed

There sould not be a problem with once fired brass
as for the Rem 700 I shoot one in 30 06 and only partialy neck size the brass, the bullet is Speer 168 gr Match Hollowpoint, no cannelure, Have not had one move in the magazine yet.
Where I have run into a problem with bullet movement in in a 308 loaded HOT, HOT and the brass fired 6-7 times the neck gets work hardened and loses its tension
