put the p41 up next to base housing again. no buck but i got my bear pic. first bear pic with the whole bear in the picture.

i still think I would be a litte uncomfortable hunitng in woods where something could hunt to eat you, just like you are hunting deer to eat..


are bear very common where you are ?

they're fairly uncommon to see but i think there are quite a few running around where people don't go.

when i was in georgia there were a few on the base there and i loved watching them while hunting. i came out of the woods after dark and found a cub in the back of my truck. it was classic; he screamed then i screamed and we both ran away :lol:

i look back on that day and the cub was only about 40-50lbs. i'm not quit sure why it really scared me :lol:

There have been a few spotted around Vicksburg and I have seen tracks on the back part of our land...
There is room for all gods creatures right next to the mashed potatoes and gravy!!

I grew up in Bear country. They will leave you alone if you don't obstruct their path, back them into a corner, or mess with their young. Other than that you are relatively safe. I am not advocating that you go out and play with them like some of the shows on Discovery, We all know where that leads to. Nice pics. Good luck with your on base hunts. Later on you will cherish those undisturbed hunts on regulated land. :D

i've been hunting around bears for the last 8 years ever since i left mississippi. i think your right. i've never had a problem with one...well the cub thing don't count. i rarely ever see them while hunting.
