Poor girl

Whats happening in your neck of the woods ?

Poor girl

Postby RoadRanger » Thu Oct 13, 2016 1:54 pm

Pulled my card before work and I have a new deer visiting every night that I assume was shot and the round missed its mark, head shot likely, and took her nose off!!

Never seen one like this but hope to see her and get a shot. She is having a party licking rice brand.

Oh know you say you would shoot her... but, is she surviving? Thriving? Able to eat? Any sign of a fawn? She may do well despite her injuries.

She visited the last five nights in a row over where I am running my camera with a mix of corn and rice brand. Most every pic she has her tongue out obviously licking the brand. I can not see how she can pick up acorns, corn, etc with only the full bottom jaw left in tact.

Unless this is a very recent injury she is at a healthy weight and not appearing to be having problems. I would harvest her simply to eat and get a close look at the nose for my curiosity

Hey side note.... She is the one deer that I won't need to worry about wind direction ha ha. Ol no nose is what I'll name her.

I bet she's got all her jaw teeth and can grind acorns, corn, and rice bran just fine. It looks like a healed injury to me. I'd have to name her "Shovel"
