I know people have used it for years. You will find it in a lot of commercial products sold to attract deer. I know people that pour it over corn etc. I have never done so, I can't tell you if it works.

A friend got some gallon jugs of expired syrup years ago. I poured some over stumps and such and attracted alot of bees! I couldn't tell it attracted anything. I have used dried molases the last couple years added to corn and Rice bran.
