Deer Lice

Have y'all ever killed deer covered in Lice? The buck I killed Sunday eve, was absolutely covered in them, especially between his legs & belly. It was so bad, I got down to just a tshirt in the cold, just so I could keep track of those creepy crawly critters.. I didn't want to bring any home with me

i think i itched the rest of the night just thinking about them

Yep killed quite a few in recent years covered with them. Guess that is part of having no cold weather. Hard to believe they all start out as a fly and then their wings break off once they find a host(deer).

Never seen them. Normally our first deer are covered in ticks, but the doe didn't have the first one on her.
