I'm probably showing my ignorance, but what are these yellow deposits just under the skin? Only found them when I was cutting up the back of the neck so far.Image

from what I have read, its caused by poor diet or rapidly loosing weight, which would make sense because they are more concerned with rutting right now than eating

more info from abiologist

Yellow fat can be a direct result of a diet high in carotene (The following foods are particularly rich in carotenes:sweet potatoes,
carrots, cantaloupe melon, apricots, Persimmons, spinach, kale, chard, turnip greens, dandelion greens, beet greens,
mustard greens, collard greens, broccoli, winter squash, and pumpkin).

Corn consumption can also cause the fat to yellow, but not noticeably the way sweet potatoes will.

Another factor is body condition. As fat is being deposited it is a creamy white, but as it is metabolized later on it goes to yellow and eventually a reddish brown.

But she puts them in an above ground, covered, spincast, sweet potato feeder, 110 yards from her stand, so that makes them legal doesn't it?
