i saw that. Congrats to the hunter . Listening to his interview, he seems like a pretty meek guy, who is blown away with all this attention :)

I reckon you'd be the type of guy that would go to an acdc concert, wrestle the guitar out of Angus' hands and start playing smoke on the water...

Couldn't help myself

I doubt this record will be broken any time soon, if ever.
Those antlers will continue to rise in value over time. This young man hit the lottery, and accomplished what most of us only dream about.
Yes, luck does play a major role in hunting.

This is a deer of a lifetime and congratulations to the hunter. Now I don't know what type of hunter this is whether he was a dedicated hunter or was just in the right place at the right time (luck). But I will put my money on bigsteve when it comes to records, it takes dedication to kill deer like Steve does year after year....you have to know the deer and the area you hunt and also know your equipment and to top this off most if not all taken on public land.
P.S. who is this electrician band you talk about AC/DC I bet they know nothing about Ole Merle.

supposedly the guy is passionate about duck hunting, not deer hunting..

the deer was killed in Sumner County TN . i've also heard that the twra knew about this deer ahead of time, and was watching the place to make sure it would be taking legally.

I have been seeing information on this. The rack is amazing. I wonder how long the twra has been aware of it. I wonder if the deer was a local legend or just an unknown. A young hunter with a story for a lifetime.

The buck a world record was infact a 3 1/2 Year old I just wonder how many so called managers would have let this one walk you will never know when a monster might walk into your life no matter what part of the country you may be hunting I can tell you from experience when one of these real monsters walks under your stand it's almost surreal mine were not close to his but will make your heart thump hunt hard and always expect the unexpected

Great deer no matter age or location. Yes it will get beat some day cause records are meant to be broken. And as people invest good hunter woodsman-ship and taking care of our resources as hunters should, big bucks will continue to be killed. It's just a matter of time and nature producing another freak deer with antlers.

It is my belief that as today's world turns into horn porn, we must remain true to our heritage and remain true to fair chase and appreciation to our quarry no matter what's on it's head.
