Got my azz whooped by deer this morning! !!!

Postby huntall » Sat Nov 04, 2017 5:05 pm

I got my ass whooped by deer this morning. Tyler trying get his first deer. One deer walked by at 715 or whatever time right after daylight walking fast enough he couldn't get shot. At 8 same thing happens. At 9 big doe steps out in PowerLine and I whistle boom he drops big doe. We walk down to what we thought was dead deer. And it raises head little so I take out knife to cut throat. I stuck knife barely in throat and it ran me over on my back with knife still in hand.
It ran off. We waited hour got help and dog and looked for several hours deer never layed down. We found very little blood but for about 350 to 400 yards nothing else.

Got my azz whooped by deer this morning! !!!

Postby triple_duece » Sat Nov 04, 2017 8:37 pm

Had a friend shot one on my place at 68 yards in the shoulder w a 35 Whalen 175 grn Bullet. Deer hit the ground, after he was climbing out the stand the deer started thrashing around and got up and ran off. Figured no problem. Tracked blood for a 100 yards or so and came to a 30 yard opening and it was like he went underground. Called a buddy w a jam up dog since mine was 4 hours away. Dog tracked it to the same spot and nothing.

Check my cams 3 weeks later and look who showed up. Tough sob's. Image

It's amazing how tough they are. You think they are down and suddenly they are gone. Video of the deer running over you would have been priceless!

i did basically same thing one year, huntall.. My son shot a small buck, but high spined it.. I was going to finish it off, and grabbed it's hind leg.. I think that thing kicked 2,000 times before I could turn it loose :)

Terry08 is the one you have to watch. He is apparently proficient in voodoo doll construction.
