Whats happening in your neck of the woods ?

City deer

Postby flipper » Sat Jan 06, 2018 4:54 pm

Last Thursday at 4:15pm I was driving through Madison between I55 and highway 51 when either a 6 or 8 point shot across in front of me. Too fast to count points, but close enough to tell he had a decent rack. Then today at around 3pm I saw at least 7 grazing across 49 from Save-A-Lot in Yazoo City. Now I’m in the country in my stand hoping to see something.

Well from the pics you have sent, shouldn’t you be hunting your driveway? Good luck this evening.

Hoping to see something also. I have my oldest son with me and it always seems we never see Deer when he comes with me.

Flipper, when we lived down there for that short time I used to see deer from time to time just south of Madison Ave and west of Magnolia in that open land. Also off McClellan just past the park on that creek right where they did all that clearing last year.

My driveway is quite rural.......off a gravel road, about a mile from the highway, and 3 miles from a small town, but yes, there have been some nice bucks there. In the middle of the night. I’m still hopeful.
