Time for some fun

Whats happening in your neck of the woods ?

Time for some fun

Postby flipper » Mon Dec 10, 2018 10:10 am

I took this week off to hunt. This morning there was chasing like crazy. Everything from 1 1/2 year olds to what was probably a 4 1/2 year old or maybe a year older. He was huge bodied and stepped out in the open just briefly to stick his nose up in the air. Nice wide rack with long G2’s, but others were not so long. Wish I had a good shot, but it was just too risky with a lot of limbs in the way. Sitting on a log in the woods now. Sun is fixing to come out. I love hunting!!!!

Good luck. I hunted a while this morning myself. Saw 3 young bucks and 9 does.

I hunted until about 10:30, didn't see deer but saw a big flock of turkeys. It was a nice morning and warmed up good

I’ve been hunting. Hunted public and only killed a big sow. Hunting my property and seeing deer every hunt, just not the right ones. Starting to see spikes bumping does. Good times are coming around the corner.

I haven’t been able to hunt any this year and the way it looks I won’t be but I have been keeping up with a lot of people that have hunted this year and they have been seeing a lot of deer and some chasing going on. I think the best hunting is yet to come from now till just after the 1st of the year so don’t give up yet.
The way I see it is we got the spring yet to get here and that means TURKEY season and that’s my love anyways maybe I will be able to hit the woods then.

JV, I think about you having to tough it out all the time. I’m just glad you’ve got some gobbler motivation keeping you headed in the right direction. Get rest and get well soon!

I’m headed in after I take kids to school. I'm hoping they move a little later. Heavy frost on ground here.

I didn’t have a heater and I got too cold and the fog got worse, so I walked back home to grab a bite and warm up before heading back out. Frost is starting to melt and drip off the roof.

Not as wild as yesterday. Only saw 5 more bucks and 8 does. That's not good for the hours I was hunting. Oh, and one single turkey. And two possums. One was democrat and one was republican by the way they were acting.

17+ antlerless and 5 bucks this morning. Lots of chasing early. Now it’s gotten quiet.
