Well i've decieded to join. look's to be a great forum and i hope to get a lot of help from the hunters on here.
I'm from starkville and am currently going to MSU. My dad took me on my first hunt when i was about 5 or so and i've been doing it ever since.
in those 15 year's of hunting i've managed to kill 5 doe's and not one buck. I've seen my share of buck's but for the last 7 year's i've tried to target "large" buck's. you know the one's that you want to hang on the wall. Have seen a couple but the shot never presented itself. I'm orginally from the delta and have spent countless hours hunting over there. this will be my first year hunting the east side of the state so i'll probably ask many questions thoughout this year. I mainly bow hunt but occasionally rifle hunt.

I have a son at MSU. The best thing I can tell you about getting your buck, is "If you ain't in the woods, you ain't gonna get him"
Patience.......Patience.....Patience

Welcome Missed Mallards! I'm sorry to hear that you are at MSU, but I guess I'll still give you a chance. Just Kidding man, I'm in school at Southern Miss down here in Hattiesburg. Just hang around some of these older guys will teach you a thing or two...

I can relate...college is not cheap. I got some scholarships, but the living expenses hurt pretty bad. I worked all summer, between 50 and 60 hours a week, and that won't be enough to cover rent and utilities for this fall.

Welcome Mallard, You may learn a thing or two if you pay close attention.
Don't let-em get on you about MSU, thats a good choice if that's where you want to be. Goodluck on getting a buck.
I hunt some up close to Stark-Vegas and travel up there a good bit.

Going to try to get some assistance next semmester and hope to get a few scholarships. It sure hurt's to right those check's but i hope it will pay off in the long run.

I'm just messin with ya missed mallards. If I wasn't in the construction program that I'm in at Southern, I would be up there in an ag program myself. I grew up on a farm and there's nothing like it. To be honest that may be where I end up is back on the farm.
