Hey guys.I live 30 mile north of Baton Rouge.I hunt near the Wilkinson County state line in St Francisville,La

welcome to the forum.
i guess the ruts just getting started good down there for ya'll.. Its over up here.. the browse is just about gone, and the bucks are hiding.
do you hunt La, Ms, or both ? whats the season length compared to MS ? I have seen some pics of absolutely HUGE bucks coming from public land in Lousianna..

Yes,the rut is strong right now.I killed a huge cull buck 7 point wed morning running a Doe.He put on quite a show.I am using a 30-06 in a new Encore(single shot) so I had to be about as patient as if I had my Hoyt.I watched this go on for 25 minutes then he gave me a shot.He had a screwed up rack but weighed 225 which is big for down here.I will try and post some pics in a few.Great meeting you fellows.
