To pray for my brother Tom, he is back in the hospital in Virginia. Latest update.
Pulm doc just pulled 1 liter of straw colored exudate from my right lung (middle lobe where the pneumonia was located)! Masses persist. Still having fevers, pain, trouble breathing, spastic coughing, and no relief in sight!! Enjoy your life, faith family and friends ...if you have your health then you have everything! !

Thanks for the prayers. Latest news
The local vampire came by my room this morning and drew my blood gases, and found more options and level was low at 64% (with normal having to be above 95%.) I am scheduled for the navigational rigid bronchoscopy today to try and biopsy the masses and take some samples of the pneumonia if they can reach that far. They will then schedule me for a lung biopsy and then will probably do a wedge resection of the Right Middle Lobe of my right lung, where the pneumonia and the mass reside. Major PAIN again!!! OUCH & AGONY!! THE Surgeon cuts yoyr chest nearly.in half. 4 more months of FMLA/MLOA. My employer will probably force me to take disability. Life goes on don't look back!!!

My brother Tom, has spent his life helping to heal others. Now he is in need of healing, they have lab's across the country trying to find the cause of the leasions and scaring of his lungs. It is not cancer, they have never seen it before and are now leaning towards chemical poisoning while in Vietnam, where Tom, served as a medivac medic saving many troops. He returned home to finish his medical schooling and then practiced medicine for the VA hospitals where he could continue to serve all Veterans. After retirement he went back to work for a private hospital in North Carolina. He refused to give up helping others. One of a few dedicated & caring doctor's who weren't in it for the money.
I pray for him, his wife Rebecca and Claire their only child.

Wow Terry, my heart goes out to you and him and his family. He is a real tough guy and I admire him. I will certainly add him to my prayers. Please continue to update us. I am really interested in hearing what they determine it is.

Update on Tom. Please keep praying.

I'm sorry, didn't I text you? I sent a message at 7:27 to number 4 294. I guess I have two cell numbers and did not know which one to use. Anyway the doctor was pleased he was able to do what he intended to do as far as looking in the lung and taking a sample to be sent off. I don't think there were any surprises in what he saw. It may take weeks for these samples to grow so we still don't know anything yet. Tom is in ICU tonight and will be tomorrow also. Dr did look in both lungs and took samples from only one. He removed between 2&3 liters of fluid from the right lung. Unbelievable!! When I saw Tom last he was waking up and doing okay. He has an epidural in his back for pain control. Will let you know more tomorrow when he is more alert. Thank you for your prayer support. I texted Ken but did not hear back from him.

Latest update, doesn't sound good. Praying

Tom had a rough night. RN thinks pain Med needs to be changed. he's been confused & disoriented, mumbling, tremors. Kept pulling off 02 tube. Taped on now. X-ray of abdomen has been ordered checking for bowel obstruction. He's just miserable. I wasn't in room during night but RN called about 6:20 am. Here now.

Not looking good. Latest update please keep the prayers coming.

Hey I wanted to let you know what's going on. This afternoon Tom had an episode that we think might be a mini stroke or TIA. He was asleep and I woke him for the doctor to talk to him and he was terribly confused. Then his speech was slurred and his right side of his mouth was drooping. It was good that the doctor was here at that time to see it. The doctor immediately did a stroke assessment. He is getting a CT right now. Don't know how soon we'll know anything but I will text you when I get information. No lab results are back yet either.
