Patau Syndrome

Postby flipper » Thu Nov 10, 2016 8:16 pm

Please pray for my niece and her husband. They got married last year. She turned 36 this year and knew the biological clock was ticking. She miscarried with their first child earlier this year. She is pregnant now, but the baby is a trisomy baby. Not Downs, but Patau. This child will likely die within the first week after it is born. Please pray that the initial test is a false positive (which is very possible) and pray for strong parents (and the rest of the family). Thanks y'all. :pray

Flipper, we lost our first son in his first day. The devastation of losing a child is indescribable and almost unbearable as several others on here can attest to. They will definitely be in my prayers.

My sister told me that her daughter left a voicemail yesterday saying that the sonogram showed no heart defects and that the doctor said she could see nothing wrong. PRAISE GOD! However, the geneticist mentioned mosaic. I forgotten exactly what that means but it's not good. The doctor told my niece for them to ignore that. So there is good news but it doesn't mean everything is normal. We will continue to pray for a miracle (and they do happen). I am very hopeful. Thanks y'all.

Well, Isaac Lee Byrd was born today, and physically he appears normal. Hopefully we will see in time that he is mentally normal as well. That would be rare, but rare means that it is possible.ImageImage
