This county lost another Great WWII Vet

Postby gtk » Tue May 05, 2009 9:01 pm

Yesterday, William Douglas Henderson passed away in Batesville.

He was my great uncle. He was a belly gunner in a B-52, a prisoner of War, and a pretty serious Christian man. He lost his wife about two months ago, and he will be buried right beside her on Thursday..

I will miss visiting with him and hearing stories of the war, and his times in the POW camps. He could tell some things that happened in that war, that would simply amaze you..

Please keep his family in your prayers for the next few days...

Isn't it sad the way so many old couples pass within a few months of each other. There must truly be something to the old adage of "dying from a broken heart".

Barbara and I will add your family to our prayers as well.
