Can you shoot a bow with both your right and left hand? How about with your feet. Here are some amazing archery "feets."
First, here is the very "easy on the eyes" Lila Stepanova video I posted a couple years ago that was very popular with our male forum readers. Think about the difficulty of shooting a bow with your feet....holding the bow, pulling back the arrow, aiming...not to mention actually hitting the bull's eye! Then think about doing it while balancing upside down on a table 6 feet off the ground. It's such a fascinating video I could watch it over and over again...for the archery, don't you know.
Ok, that's cool. But is that really so hard? Yeah it is...however, Lila can at least see the target she is trying to hit. What about this girl shooting a bow with her feet but doing it blindfolded. No matter how much you contort and stand on your head, which this 14 year old girl also does, hitting a target you cannot even see raises the bar a lot higher. Don't think it's so hard? Get our your bow and try shooting it with your eyes closed! If you manage to hit the target, then start practicing your handstands and contortionist movements.
And, last but by no means least, is this amazing video. Like the other two above, this guy has taught himself to shoot a bow with his feet. Being born without any arms, his only option was to learn to shoot with his feet.
But he did not just learn to shoot a very basic bow with easy poundage to pull at targets as close as 20 feet. In this video he is shooting a Mathews compound bow at 20 yards...not 20 feet. And he shoots with Olympic level precision holding several national and world records and other accomplishments. For that you don't have to just overcome the physical limitations of having no arms and needing to shoot a bow with your feet but you have to also be among the world's most accurate archers to boot. His goal: To be THE best archer in the world. He's not far from accomplishing just that either.
While the two girls shoot at targets like balloons or large bulls eye's at very close range he can dead center a target the size of a bottle cap at 20 yards. Most of us who shoot without any physical limitations cannot do that. This guy picks up his arrows with his feet and loads them on his bow, including putting them in his shoulder mounted release. Watch carefully and you will even see him make adjustments to his bow using allen wrenches with his feet. He neither wants any help nor needs it while both of the two girls had to have an assistant help them load the arrows and grip the bows with their feet.
For all around sheer amazement due to his accomplishments, this guy is pretty hard to beat.
