Hunting in the rain?

Postby hubtech » Fri Nov 22, 2013 11:43 am

So, I planned on getting in the woods this evening...but it appears it's going to be raining. Still possible to get one in the rain? or do they bed down?

It is possible, maybe not in the driving rain, but before and after a rain. Lots of times they will get up and move and shake off between showers, feed some. Light rain does not bother them to much. Just my opinion!

I have killed them when it was raining so hard I don't know how the bullet made it to the deer.

I don't like bow hunting in a rain. Misting is one thing, but if its raining hard it'll wash the blood trail away.

if its a good rain, the only place you will find me hunting, is a blind or box stand... something that is "covered" :)

My plan is to, in fact, drop them in their tracks. I'm gonna go for it.

I like to hunt in the rain...seen plenty deer in rain.....but I don't recommend bow hunting in the rain unless u want to loose deer due to washed away blood trail
