I got to the only suitable stand I had for the wind at around 0640. The weather was nice and cool but not cold and very enjoyable. At 0700 a young 4 point walked out of the woods about 60 yards away and was working my direction. Now, this wasn't a deer I was going to shoot but it was great to see a deer 20 minutes into my first hunt of the season. And working his way into bow range at that. At 0703, I heard a new to me sound in the woods. What I could only imagine was one of the clubs new fancy spin cast feeder slinging feed. Mr. 4 point makes a B-line in that direction and I didn't see another deer the rest of the morning. I imagined them all standing under the feeder waiting for it to go off, laughing at me.
