I'm no expert, but I'd say mission, Martin, pse, or any of the other brands of bows would prolly suit your needs. My advice would be to go to a archery supply store and shoot them, then get on archery talk and see what kinda deals you can find on a leftover bow.

Ebay usually has some.good buys on closeout bows I would stay away from used bows unless you know who oned the bow and how he took care of it as far as brands it is what you can afford as chad said mission, pse, hoyt ,martin botec and mathews are all good choices I would stick with a bow made in the last 5 years with parelell limbs and atleast 34" axle to axle a little more forgiving than the shorter bows good luck just remember you dont have to have a $1000 rig to bowhunt all the major bow companys make good bows

I'd start with your local bow shop.. Plenty of people "have" to have the latest & newest bows, and trade their perfectly good bow in..

If your from the Desoto County area, there is a good bow shop in Hernando.

Well the longer axle.to.axle they are more forgiviving to shoot the shorter the bow the harder it is to keep from tourqueing effecting accuracy if your form is a.little off . I tried some of the 30" to 32" bows and wasnt satisfyed went back to the 34" bows I shot a martin firecat at 52 lbs and a mathews switch back at 54lbs both' preformed.well I could not tell much difference between the two . killed some.good ones with both bows my compound days are a thing of the past but there is nothing in the world that will compare with the rush of a.bow.kill what ever bow you decide on practice makes perfect I sure do miss the challenge bow hunted 45+ years shot 3 ds for about 25 years

I have a Matthews SQ2 that I will sell you for 125.00 Its a good little bow and it does need a new string, it has a whisker bisquit rest and tru glow sights. I have kept it for a back up bow and was hopeing the grand daughter would grow a little more before she got ready to shoot a bow but she is wanting to start now.... It would give you a bow to start with and you could go from there.

I picked up a bear enforcer 2 years ago. Shoots over 300 fps and is pretty nice. 400 brand new and all I did was swap sights.

Like other have already said, you should shoot a few and see what feels best to you. I had made up my mind I was buying a Hoyt Alpha Max, until I shot a Diamond Black Ice.
