I like the mechanicals. They fly much more like your field points to me. Used to be a lot of bad mouthing them by the traditionalists but now you see more and more of the "Professional" hunters using them. Buy you some Rage broadheads. You can purchase some of their "practice" heads that don't open up. The real ones fly just like the practice ones and they open up a sickening hole in a deer. They have 2 blades or 3 blades. Either is extremely deadly.

to each his own... I use fixed broadheads...100gr thunderheads... I have seen the Rage (Mech Broadhead) in action..It is wicked..If you do use a Mech broadhead I would suggest the Rage....

You will get many varied answers on this subject.. 8point says it best though, either will kill if you put it in the right spot..

Also important is practicing with the broadhead that you will be hunting with, and keeping them sharp !

I killed my first deer with a bow last year, using the rage 2 blade.. So I am kind of partial to them now :)

I have used nothing but mechanicals since I bow hunted the first time around... Back then I used the punchcutter.. I now use the NAP Spitfire in 125 grain....

Find a broad head you like and build your confidence in what you are comfortable with... You will get all kinds of debates of which is best and most all of them are good...

The main thing with bowhunting is haveing the patience for a clean shot of the vitals.... 99 percent of the broadheads on the market today will kill a deer if the shot placement is right....
