I cut some trees in my yard and the tops were full of acorns. Looks like a good crop this year. In the brandon area at least.

I have not done a full acorn survey on my land just yet, as the nuts are very small right now, but on the water oaks in my front and side yards, the trees old enough to produce have a very good crop of acorns on them. I am in the Byram area, so it looks good here.

squirrels are wearing the hickery nuts out at my house and making a heck of a mess in the process, pine burrs too. I've noticed lotsa small limb ends being cut so I guess they're feathering their nest some.

The swamp chestnuts I've glassed seem to have plenty on them. I love bowhunting the hardwood ridges when they start dropping.
