If you want to hunt something, what's holding you back? Right now you can legally hunt, day or night, eight (8) species of animals, using a bow or a gun, which are:

1) Wild Hogs
2) Raccoons
3) Coyotes
4) Fox
5) Frogs
6) Beavers
7) Nutria
8) Skunks

Flinging arrows even at lowly frogs at least gives you some marksmanship practice. I watched a cool bowhunt video on You Tube this week of two guys have a great time bowhunting frogs.

And in my opinion, if you stick a few wild hogs, coyotes, or any of the other animals listed, you are doing everyone a favor.

In Mississippi, there is never a single day when you cannot hunt a variety of animals. One of my bowhunting partners has been doing some hog hunting lately down on the Pearl River and having a blast. I have been trying to find some free time to join in one of their hunts. I know it is not the same thing as flinging an arrow through a woods goat, but it is still a lot of fun and gives you some good practice on live game instead of a target bag.
