Looks like another year of Hunting In Tee Shirts In December. Can't remember the year but, it was somewhere in 1980's. We were hunting in Byram, and the temp. was in the upper 80's on Dec. 29th.

The calendar says there are no days when the low is to be below freezing. $20 says we will have at least one freezing day this winter! Who wants to bet on the calendar?

Those numbers are just historical averages...I expect plenty of cold this winter - especially between Christmas and the end of January

With the small fortune I've spend on cold weather gear for my out of state hunt this year I hope we have plenty of cold days down here too.
Folks who believe in those kind of calendars are likely to believe there's a Richard Simmons Jr. around somewhere. 8)

I won't take FireCloud up on the bet . I feel sure we will see days below freezing but, I feel we are in for a hot hunting season. Just my opinion, based on what I have seen before. Last year at this time we had seen all the rain we could stand and it continued through the whole winter. It has always been that way here. This year it is all South, we have not had over 1/8 " in over sixty days. In the Scotland Community. :bash: :bash: :bash:

The way I understand it, those numbers are based on a historical average rather than any kind of forecast anyway. So, that is the kind of weather we always have at least on average.

You are correct, form my understanding of the site, and contacting them. All things being equal as to past records this is what this year should hold. Of course all this data is gathered from computer analysis, and we all know how much we can trust computers for accurate information.
