interesting hunt!!!

I heard one gobble not on my land that was way off.
All I heard early so I decided that I would just call it the day,
And go across the road and look at my trees that I have planted
The last few years. I walked this 18 acre block of land checking
the progress of my trees. I was over there for about 2 hours.

I was fixin to get back in the truck and pulled out a little push box call and hit it
and one gobbled. I grabbed my gun and took off. I set up and he gobbled about twenty
times and sounded like he was getting farther away.

After he stopped gobbling , I waited a while and said he must have left.
I walk all the way back 2 hundred yards to the truck and hit the call again
and he gobbled and was not far from away from the spot I was at!
Here I go trying to sneak :bash: back to the same area I was at . He didn't gobble anymore.
This is open land with young trees . I did have a ridge to hide behind, but he must have spooked at some point.

how long did you wait before going back to the truck ? obviously not long enough :) but how long? 30 min's would be my minimum to wait.. I've screwed up too many hunts getting in a hurry.

Waited about 25 minutes after last gobble. I have to learn to hang in there a little longer!
This bird gobbled the first time after 10:00.

I was gonna try to get back on him this weekend, but the weather don't look to good.
Don't know if I'm going or not.

He's out there in all kinds of weather. Better stay on him while he's there.
