Re: anyone? ?
Ok, here's my story. I set my alarm to go off at 3:50. I got up, got dressed and left out the door a little after 4:30. A few minutes later I realized I didn't have my gun with me, but decided to continue on without it. I rarely need it anyway. Finally I arrived, parked the truck, got out and went into the office to start my 12 hour day at work while the rest of you were sitting in the woods feeling sorry for yourselves because you didn't kill a turkey, lol. You could have been at work like me.

Re: anyone? ?
I had fun working on my son's Jeep with him. He discovered girls and don't spend a whole lot of time with me anymore. We replace his right side valve cover gasket because it sprung a pretty good leak. And after I snapped off the PCV valve, I showed him how to replace that...

Re: anyone? ?
I hunted sat and sunday mornings till noon... Sat was great even I sat down too close to the hens I had 2 gobblers hammering and got them to within 75 yards but could get em any closer... I managed to call 6 of the 14 hens to within 5 yards 3 different times but they would go back to the gobblers... Sunday was totally opposite had 2 birds gobble a total of three times but it was foggy until 1030

I don't believe they quite ready up this far north ... After a few days of warmth & sunshine, it should turn on !

Re: anyone? ?
Had one gobbling good at daylight. Went from owl hoot to tree yelp & he gobbled each time. I set up within flydown distance, but when hens flew down they went in direct opposite direction & he followed them. Was near the property line & they headed directly across the property line. He would gobble each time I yelped but was already across property line, getting farther & farther away. Member of camp thought neighbors must have corn out, since they were so determined to immediately go that way.
I then set up decoys in edge of food plot & began calling. Called up several jakes who took a look at decoys & went back to the oak bottom feeding. I took a small nap & then began calling again. Called up a hen from the opposite direction who made a circle right around me, trying to figure out what I was. She never did go all the way into the food plot but when I didn't move, she went back into the oak bottom feeding.
Lots of fun.
