I've killed them with frost on the ground early in the season but they seem to be more active with spring like mornings. The weather has been crazy but the Turkeys are going to breed regardless of the weather.

i went out last Friday and made a two mile round of the pastures but saw nothing but tracks.wind was high and toms shy away from being shoved by the wind.mainly,i needed the exercise to get into shape.where i hunt,i never scout since they have always been there.maybe, this will be an early spring and there might be leaves on the trees along with some ground foliage.nothing worse than birds on the roost seeing you in the dark while waiting for a gobble.i am surprised the season opener is on a Tuesday rather than a weekend.good luck to all ;)

I have to work 7-12s from 3-11-16 to 3-30-16 and I'm off until 4-18-16. Season opens 4-4-16 here so I will hunt every day possible from the 4th to the 18th! Its been very windy here as well and I aint been seeing them much.

The guys who schedule the powerhouse outages I work must not hunt? They always start them in Turkey or Deer season :bash:
