Cold day!!

Postby chadbragg » Wed Mar 15, 2017 6:05 pm

Got on a few birds this morning early, but had no luck. Went back this evening and this ol boy slipped up! The weather kept the majority of the hunters out of the woods from what I could tell! Glad I opted for the public land hunt. ImageImage

Congrats on a fine bird. I've heard of a few killed in my neck of the woods today but like you said....the weather kept most hunters out of the woods today.

Congrats on the bird. Twas a bit nippy early . Keep it up. When I was growing up there wasnt that many fair weather turkey hunters as there is now. Looks like you made the right choice.

Congratulations, the pictures show up as broken on my phone. But I figure it's a good one.

I always hear "I ain't near as mad at them as I used to be"

I've never been mad at turkey or deer, owning a lawn business weather dictates my free time. So I have to hunt/fish when weather is to bad to work. Works out great for deer hunting but not so much for turkey and fishing! But I understand what you are saying and thanks, I'm hoping time allows me to get another one!

I understand where ya are coming from. Heck my dad hasn't hunted anything in the last 5-6yrs.

Hope ya get one in the am. My wife is working this weekend. I may not be hunting until next weekend. Unless I make a mid day hunt.

I can understand giving up all hunting but aint no way I am ever giving up or quitting turkey hunting. My mentor is now 89 years old and hunts every chance he gets and still regularly kills his limit with an old LC Smith 16 gauge. Tom Kelly got it right when he wrote " I don’t hunt turkeys because I want to; I hunt turkeys because I have to." If I got to go which we all do I hope it is like these 2 fine gentleman of which I knew both.
